Our Twelve Days of Christmas continues…On our 11th day of Christmas we find ourselves where we have been the past 35 years on this special evening… bringing in the new year with our extended family the Tillmann’s and friends. This was the first year that we had no “Elders”. The torch officially passed down this New Year’s eve to the next generation. We are now them. The “Elders” on this evening were my first introduction to Bayfield…they formulated my impressions of this tiny magical village and the special people who gathered here. Dr. Tillmann & Mrs. Tillmann… Mr. & Mrs. Beechie…Mr. & Mrs. Willock…each year they embraced me and made me feel I belonged with them. I belonged here. I resolve on this New Year’s…now that the torch has been passed, that I will follow in their footsteps, embracing the newest members of our group assuring them that they “belong”…
